The NBA's star young players are looking for league-financed insurance against injuries ahead of returning to play in Orlando.
Donovan Mitchell, Bam Adebayo, De'Aaron Fox, Kyle Kuzma and Jayson Tatum spoke with the National Basketball Players Association about facilitating talks with the NBA on insurance policies. These players are eligible for their rookie extensions at the beginning of free agency and could be at an increased risk of injury given the unprecedented restart this season. It is a reasonable conversation to have given the uncertain circumstances. The group of young players are hoping their influence will force the league to consider providing insurance for them and the rest of the players.
