Shams Charania is reporting that Pascal Siakam is seeking a max contract in negotiations with the Raptors.
Siakam could get either a four-year, $130 million deal or a five-year, $170 million deal. Charania adds that Siakam wants to stay in Toronto, and all indications are that the Raptors want him to stay. The Raptors can also open up over $80 million in cap space next summer by holding off on a Siakam extension, and they would likely be happy to go full max if Siakam continues to improve this season without a deal right now. As it stands, this is not a contentious negotiation and it would be surprising if Siakam wasn't a Raptor for a long time — when that becomes official, and for how much, are the only things up in the air.
