According to ESPN's Malika Andrews, Patrick Beverley left the NBA 'bubble' on Tuesday evening to attend to an emergency personal matter.
The Clippers can't be too excited to hear of this development, but this is just how things have been for sports in 2020. In the seemingly inevitable event that players will have to abruptly leave the bubble to attend to other, more pressing circumstances, it's better for the team's on-floor outlook that it happen now rather than during the playoffs. Each team's eight seeding games don't begin until at least July 30, and the Clippers face none other than their crosstown rival, the Lakers, that evening. Beverley's chances of playing in that game are now next to nothing given that he will have to self-isolate upon returning to Disney World in Orlando.
