The Sixers are seriously considering dismissing President of Basketball Ops Bryan Colangelo as the team continues to investigate anonymous Twitter accounts.
In one of the strangest stories in league history, The Ringer found five "burner" accounts that repeatedly came to the defense of Colangelo's tenure in both Toronto and Philadelphia, bashing his Raptors successor Masai Ujiri and Sixers predecessor Sam Hinkie while disclosing medical information regarding Jahlil Okafor and Joel Embiid and personal information regarding Okafor, Embiid, Nerlens Noel and Markelle Fultz. The evidence overwhelmingly points to the accounts being operated by someone extremely close to Colangelo if not Colangelo himself, so the Sixers might not have any other choice but to fire him unless they can come up with definitive proof that it wasn't him (or his wife). Philadelphia was gaining some organizational momentum only for this reckless behavior to surface and now both Colangelo and the team look deeply incompetent right before they were set to chase superstar free agents. And to think, BC was brought in to help bring the Sixers back to respectability after The Process.
