The Spurs and DeMar DeRozan are discussing a contract extension though nothing is imminent, per Shams Charania.
DeRozan has a player option worth $27.7 million for the 2020-21 season but would surely be open to more long-term security. His new max deal would be for four years and $150 million, though it's unlikely that he gets right up to that mark. Charania reports that the Spurs view DeRozan as an anchor for the franchise and that he's been working on adding more offensive moves, and an improved 3-point shot, this summer. DeRozan has a renowned work ethic and returns from each summer an improved player, so we're excited to see what's in store. He'll be a safe pick in the early-middle rounds.
