The Wizards are set to offer Joakim Noah a max contract which will pay him around $120 million over four years according to sources.
Offering Noah a max deal off of a season ending shoulder surgery seems to be a huge risk to take. Noah is not the same man he used to be. The NBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, who also received consideration for MVP, will definitely bring the passion and leadership that is lacking in a young Wizards team. He would be able to relieve some pressure off of John Wall with his ability to pass and find the open man, but is he really worth a max contract? Comparing him to other free agents like Al Horford and Hassan Whiteside, the answer is no.
