Robert Covington returned from injury on Friday night and ended up with 11 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals, two blocks, two turnovers and three 3-pointers in the Sixers’ loss to the Thunder.
His line looks pretty good. Double-double, no zeroes, five defensive stats, three 3s. But when we dig slightly deeper, he shot 4-of-21 from the floor and 3-of-15 from deep for an awfully rough game. A major takeaway though is the fact that Covington played 49 minutes upon his return while Richaun Holmes, one of our HoopBall favorites, played only 10 minutes in a 63 minute game. With Covington back, Holmes’ minutes will most certainly take a steep drop.
