Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni said he would like to blow teams out in order to rest James Harden towards the end of games, according to Jonathan Feigan.
The original plan was stagger Harden’s minutes towards the end of the first and third quarter, but with Chris Paul out D’Antoni acknowledged that was no longer possible and Harden would have to find his rest in the fourth quarter. “We have to win games. We’ll monitor. It would be nice,” said D’Antoni. “We need to play in the sense he needs to sit the last five, six minutes. We need to knock people out.”
