Rudy Gay said he has not put any thought into whether or not he will exercise his player option for the 2018-2019 season.

"I’m just watching these playoff games and enjoying it, said Gay. "When that time comes, I have enough people around me to help with that decision. Right now, I’m getting ready to go on vacation, man." Gay averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds in 21.6 minutes during the 2017-18 season, but admitted he felt rusty coming off of major Achilles surgery. Additionally, he mentioned in his first year with the Spurs he recognized as a family-first organization and the unselfish style of play on court. "It’s like no other organization in the league," said Gay. "They are definitely family-oriented – there’s a family atmosphere and family is everything." Much of Gay's value next season will be determined by the situation with Kawhi Leonard, as the available playing time on the roster would be crunched significantly. He still offered value across the board in limited minutes and as long as he is getting decent minutes is worth a late-round flier, but after suffering an Achilles injury Gay's best years are behind him.
