Rudy Gay isn't sure whether or not he'll exercise his $8.8 million player option for next season.
Gay probably left some money on the table last summer to sign with a team that had championship aspirations, even with his Achilles injury looming over negotiations. After he proved himself pretty healthy this season, Gay might not want to take the same discount again — especially if this summer will bring lots of big changes to San Antonio. Ultimately he never really got to play the role both team and player envisioned thanks to Kawhi Leonard's injury, but his averages of 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 21.6 minutes were right in line with his career per-minute numbers.
