Rudy Gobert was able to do as he pleased in Tuesday’s 110-79 victory over the visiting Pistons, going 9-of-12 from the field and finishing with 22 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 31 minutes of action.
The only blemish here is his 4-of-9 from the line. While the Jazz looked out of the hunt, they’ve been turning it up since Gobert returned from his injury and the team finally began to jell. While they’re in the midst of a tough playoff race and would probably fall to an elite opponent, Utah’s Gobert-anchored defense is enough to give any opponent fits. Perhaps the league’s most menacing monster waiting at the rim, Gobert should cruise with early-round value the rest of the way.
