Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer is reporting that the Lakers could target DeMarcus Cousins on a short-term max contract now that Paul George appears all but re-signed in Oklahoma City.
It'd be an interesting turn of events, and Cousins might jump at any level of max deal since he's facing a very interesting market between his off-court baggage and Achilles injury. James has previously praised Boogie's game, and the Lakers can afford to lock down LBJ before pivoting to Cousins as his market might not be too robust. There's also the looming specter of Kawhi Leonard trade talks to consider. Los Angeles looks to be swinging for the fences this summer.
