• D'Angelo Russell - G - Brooklyn Nets

D'Angelo Russell put up 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in Saturday's loss to the Jazz, shooting just 8-for-25 in the process.

It was an ugly night if you had anything riding on efficiency, but most of the Nets were barely present as they got smacked by Utah. Spencer Dinwiddie chipped in 22 points with three triples and a steal on 7-of-16 from the field. Both of Brooklyn's guards are must-start options til the end.

Fantasy News

  • Robert Covington - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Robert Covington (right knee bone bruise) will not play on Thursday.

In what looks like Thibs' parting gift to the franchise, Covington's massive workloads may have finally caught up to him. He's likely done for the year.

  • Derrick Rose - G - Minnesota Timberwolves

Derrick Rose (sore right elbow) has been ruled out of Thursday's matchup with the Hornets.

Rose is looking like a drop candidate, with the Wolves having little incentive to push the veteran through any health issues. Tyus Jones could be a league-winning player down the stretch and needs to be rostered in all formats if he wasn't already. It was a largely successful season for Rose, though most of his fantasy value was carried by a wild 3-point shooting streak early in the year.

  • Luol Deng - F - Minnesota Timberwolves

Luol Deng (sore left Achilles) has been ruled out for Thursday against the Hornets.

There's no need to pay attention to Deng in any fantasy leagues at this point, as available minutes should be going to Keita Bates-Diop even if Deng can get healthy again.

  • Dennis Smith Jr. - G - New York Knicks

David Fizdale said that Dennis Smith Jr. (sore lower back) "may be" re-evaluated next week.

It looks like Smith is headed for a shutdown, and if he does play again this season it may come too late to help fantasy owners. DSJ is a drop in just about all formats with this news, unless you're able to tuck him on IR in 8-cat leagues.

  • Allonzo Trier - G - New York Knicks

Allonzo Trier (strained left calf) has been ruled out on Wednesday against the Jazz.

Trier put up 22 points in Monday's garbage time session against the Raptors, but his absence tonight will open up even more time for Damyean Dotson and Kadeem Allen. Dotson's been on a scoring tear that deserves standard-league ownership while Allen's been able to post a few intriguing lines and is worth streaming in deeper leagues.

  • Kelly Oubre Jr. - F - Phoenix Suns

Kelly Oubre (left thumb sprain) has been ruled out of Thursday's matchup against the Pistons.

That'll be two straight games on the shelf for Oubre, who has been producing early-middle round value for multiple months now. Josh Jackson and Mikal Bridges both make fine adds in the interim, with Jackson more of a punt-percentages player. Look for all the Suns to get in more work on offense with Oubre's absence leaving 16.2 shots per game (in March) on the table.

  • Tyler Johnson - G - Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson (sore right knee) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Pistons.

Johnson was doubtful in the afternoon report but has already been downgraded. De'Anthony Melton, Josh Jackson and Mikal Bridges are going to be busy with the Suns' wing rotation opening up. Bridges is the best add, with Jackson permissible if you don't care about percentages and Melton a steals option. Johnson doesn't need to be held in 12-team leagues at this point.

  • Frank Ntilikina - G - New York Knicks

Frank Ntilikina (sore groin) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Jazz, and the Knicks want to see him get through another practice before returning.

That makes it sound like Ntilikina will play in the next one barring a setback. He's going to be battling with Kadeem Allen for the backup point guard work with Dennis Smith Jr. sidelined, but it'd be surprising if he made an impact in fantasy leagues. Deep-league steals appeal is just about all Ntilikina is bringing to the table right now.

  • Ersan Ilyasova - F - Milwaukee Bucks

Ersan Ilyasova (illness) will play on Wednesday against the Cavs.

Ilyasova missed Tuesday's game as he was under the weather, but he'll play tonight. A top-150 finish isn't out of the question given Ilyasova's stat set and Nikola Mirotic's 2-to-4 week timetable, so you can consider him a low-end add if you need rebounds, some 3-pointers and the occasional defensive stat.

  • Tristan Thompson - F/C - Cleveland Cavaliers

Tristan Thompson (left foot soreness) will return from a 26-game absence on Wednesday against the Bucks.

Thompson has missed 36 games in total with left foot problems this season, and we can't imagine that he'll be playing with his full minutes for the rest of this season. If you've got a roster spot to burn then you can consider TT a flier given his standard-league run earlier in the year, but just know that all those numbers came with Kevin Love out. The odds of a return to prominence aren't great.
