The Thunder emerged from a compelling Christmas matchup with a 112-107 win over the Rockets thanks in large part to 31 points, six rebounds, 11 assists and three steals from Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook did a great job to turn this one around, as he started 2-for-10 before closing with 10-of-14 to finish .500 from the field. He also shot 7-of-8 from the charity stripe and should slowly start to bring that back up towards his career average. Tonight, he knocked down some clutch buckets and blitzed the Rockets a few time with his inhuman transition play. The reigning MVP is still a triple-double machine but can pump the brakes a little more than last year, so he’s more of a top-20/30 play in 8/9-cat than a top-3 stud this season.
