As is to be expected in a 46-point loss, the Kings and their cast of backcourt characters were absolutely dreadful on Wednesday.
Let’s be quick about this and leave some time for mourning. George Hill was the only player who was moderately okay, shooting 4-of-11 and notching 12 points, two assists, one 3-pointer and three steals in 24 minutes. De’Aaron Fox finished with just two points, two assists and two steals with a 1-for-4 shooting line in 19 minutes. Starter Bogdan Bogdanovic was 3-of-8 from the field for seven points and one 3-pointer in 23 minutes and Malachi Richardson missed all seven of his shots in 20 minutes. Even the infrequently used Frank Mason III was 0-for-2 in his 10 minutes. At least Buddy Hield was fine-ish. The Kings should flush this one fast, as it’s either a testament to a tremendous tank job or a hideous excuse of inadvertent tanking. Everyone has bad nights now and then, but this was T-R-B-L terrible.
