After sitting out Friday’s game with a knee injury, Serge Ibaka returned on Sunday and posted nine points, eight rebounds, one 3-pointer and one block in 26 minutes.
You can make the case that Ibaka wasn’t needed with the Wizards using smaller lineups, but it’s hard to deny that he’s seen his effectiveness wane this season. His shot blocking numbers continue to fall and he doesn’t quite make the quick reads required of Toronto’s reformed offense. Ibaka will often hesitate to pass and either end up taking a jumper or giving the ball to his teammates in tough spots. Serge should hit enough threes and pick up enough blocks to return late-middle round value but his days as a top-50 guy appear to be over.
