Mike Muscala was traded to the Sixers Thursday in a three-team trade also involving the Thunder and Hawks.
Muscala was a necessary contract to make the Dennis Schroder for Carmelo Anthony trade possible but the Thunder had no intention of keeping him. The Sixers came in grabbed Muscala to replace Nemanja Bjelica who backed out of his deal with Philly. Muscala should play a role very similar to Ersan Ilyasova's last year. He will provide shooting at the backup four or five and can co-exist with either Dario Saric or Joel Embiid. The Sixers also retained Amir Johnson which could cut into Muscala's minutes, but the two play very different styles.
