Spencer Dinwiddie shot just 5-of-15 from the field on Saturday but still managed a solid 15 points, nine assists, three triples and one steal in a 89-101 loss to the Heat.
Dinwiddie has been excellent since taking over the starting point guard job and it’ll be very hard to remove him from the role. No matter where he plays or when he checks into the game, Dinwiddie has played himself into Brooklyn’s long-term plans. He’s a strong bet for top-75 numbers the rest of the way if he holds onto the starting gig, and he’s not going to fall off the standard league radar even if he gets shoved to the bench. Dinwiddie has been one of the league’s surprise success stories so far this season.
