Stanley Johnson stirred from his season-long slumber in Wednesday’s loss, tallying 16 points, two threes and a steal in 28 minutes off the bench.
Before we get too excited, Johnson’s minutes were definitely the result of some garbage time. Dallas led by 12 at the half and pushed the lead to 23 through three quarters, allowing Detroit to reach into the deepest part of their bench bag. Reggie Bullock, who has performed well since replacing Johnson as a starter, posted a dud with four points and one assist in 24 minutes. He’s still the guy to own here, however, as Johnson has frittered away plenty of chances in his first three NBA seasons.
