Marc Stein of the New York Times is reporting that Kevin Durant is looking for a one-year deal with a player option for the 2019-20 season from the Warriors.
Bob Myers has already said KD will get whatever he wants on this contract and the deal is expected to hit the wire right after midnight eastern time. While Durant is technically a free agent, there's really no reason for him to leave a great situation in Golden State. We'll probably go through the same song and dance this time next summer, but KD tends to play his cards close to the chest so we'll just have to wait and see. Odds are he'll be a Warrior for as long as he'd like to. Despite a little ambiguity over his long-term future, this deal will save Golden State a ton of tax money next season.
