Steph Curry piled in 40 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals on 14-of-26 shooting in a team high 39 minutes in a 113-111 Game 1 home win vs. the Spurs on Sunday.
Chef Curry certainly was cooking tonight. He drilled in seven 3-pointers, which seems like a lot but it could’ve been even more considering he attempted 16 of them. He and Durant were the leading forces in the comeback, and Steph scored 19 in the third quarter alone, as well as drilling in the game tying 3-pointer with 1:48 remaining. After Kawhi Leonard left the game, Steph really took over and dominated, and there wasn’t anyone on the other team that even came close to being able to contain him. He did miss two free-throws, which is extremely rare for him, as well as having 4 turnovers, but when he’s playing like he was tonight, those can be overlooked. Look for the Chef to try and keep on cooking in Game 2 on Tuesday.
