When asked about third-year center Damian Jones, Steve Kerr said he would “love to give him a shot” at the starting spot.
“All three of them are very different, which we like. But we’re anxious to see DJ,” Kerr said. “He’s worked hard in Santa Cruz and he’s incredibly explosive and powerful. It’ll be fun to throw him out there with our four All-Stars and see what he can do.” Jones has only had very limited run, spending most of his time in the G-League and appearing in just 174 minutes over 25 games in his two years with the champs. We’ll have to see how the rotation looks in preseason, but this doesn’t seem like good news for Jordan Bell or Kevon Looney, especially with DeMarcus Cousins also working his way back to the court.
