The Suns have agreed to terms with Trevor Ariza on a one-year, $15 million deal.
Ariza will be back on the market next season when things appear to be much friendlier to players. He'll spend a year (or less) in the desert, picking up the toughest defensive covers and sparing Devin Booker some torturous nights on defense. Ariza is a fairly consistent middle-round option who should continue to do what he always does — hit threes and rack up steals while posting some ugly shooting nights. It'll be interesting to see what the Suns do here, as they now have Ariza, Josh Jackson, T.J. Warren, Mikal Bridges, Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender as guys who can play some three and/or four. We'd expect some more turnover. It's a big blow to Houston but the rest of the league is probably pretty happy to see this one come across the wire.
