• Alan Williams
    C/F, Phoenix Suns

The Suns are waiving center Alan Williams.

Big Sauce missed most of last season after tearing his meniscus but broke onto the scene in 2016-17, posting some big double-doubles down the stretch for the tanking Suns. Phoenix kept pushing back the deadline on his contract decision but have ultimately decided to let him go, opting to let him hit the waiver wire rather than give him $5.5 million. They just drafted Deandre Ayton and probably couldn't move Tyson Chandler even if they didn't value his veteran presence, so there was no path to playing time here. Williams could be a nice source of cheap double-doubles in the right workload but he's not likely to be more than a deep league option in fantasy regardless of where he ends up.
