Mario Hezonja picked up a start at power forward on Saturday and wasn’t half bad, collecting seven points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 31 minutes.
Hezonja shot just 3-of-9 from the field but he was better than fellow fill-in Arron Afflalo, who scored four points with nothing else (somehow) in 25 minutes. The Magic are crumbling to bits and might reconfigure their lineup again, but Hezonja is certainly in the deep league picture if he’s going to get more time in the starting lineup. Aaron Gordon (concussion) isn’t expected to be out long so the shelf life is limited, but he’s at least a viable option.
