Team U.S.A. came out victorious on Friday afternoon vs. Spain in an entertaining 82-76 victory.
Leading the way for the Americans was DeAndre Jordan who played 27 minutes and tied an American Olympic record by hauling in 16 rebounds. He also chipped in nine points, four blocks, two assists and one steal in an all around very productive line. Klay Thompson also played well for team U.S.A. scoring a team-high 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting. He added four treys, four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block to complete his line on the afternoon. If it’s not Durant, it’s George, or Anthony, or in today’s case Thompson and Jordan. Team U.S.A. will face the winner of the Serbia/Australia game in the gold medal game on Sunday. Anything short of a gold medal would be utterly disappointing.
