• Suns GM Ryan McDonough and coach Earl Watson both were quoted as liking their lottery selections at power forward from draft night.

Watson said that No. 8 pick Marquese Chriss will bring a “wow factor” and McDonough said that Dragan Bender has “that magic feel” with the basketball.  And we don’t mean to pick on the Suns here because they are one of 30 teams that are extremely happy with their draft, but it gives us an excuse to talk about the Suns’ frontcourt.

With Alex Len and Tyson Chandler both only able to defend the five position and the Suns also talking a big game about re-signing Mirza Teletovic, the frontcourt is getting pretty crowded.  Even if we subtract Teletovic from the equation these two rookies would have to share playing time and that’s not a great recipe for success.  If one can emerge over the other they may have some fantasy appeal, but owners should be looking at their long-term trajectory in active Dynasty leagues and nothing more at this time.
