• Tim Hardaway Jr.

Mavs coach Rick Carlisle indicated that the starting five could be fluid other than Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, as Tim Hardaway Jr. will have to fight for the starting job.

THJ spent the final 11 games of the 2018-19 season on the sidelines after going under the knife in April to repair a stress reaction in his left tibia. The sixth-year shooting guard is back to full strength as the Mavs open training camp on Tuesday and his efficiency will determine a lot about his role this year. Hardaway has career splits of 41.8 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from behind the arc, and 81.6 percent from the free throw line. His numbers are not bad, but they’re certainly not good, and they look a lot worse when you consider the amount of shots he puts up. Playing next to Luka and KP could help him get better shots off but unless we see it you shouldn’t count on anything other than scoring with bad percentages.
