Trevor Ariza finished with 23 points, two assists, four boards, two steals on 7-of-14 from the field and 5-of-10 from deep in Monday’s Game 1 victory over the Spurs.
Ariza was a on fire in this one and carried the Rockets to a big lead before getting some rest after it was out of hand. This was his best game in the playoffs thus far and was his second double digit scoring effort. Even with this performance he is shooting just 36 percent from the field over his last 10 games. This may seem unusually bad, but for the season he only shot 41 percent so in comparison it’s not a huge drop. Most of his attempts come from deep anyway, so it’s to be expected.
I know you've seen this stat quite a bit, but worth repeating. Rockets are 21-4 when Ariza scores 15. He has 15 at the half. #txsn
