Tristan Thompson finished Sunday’s game with eight points and four rebounds to go along with two steals.
Coach Tyronn Lue didn’t play him for most of the first half and gave Channing Frye his first minutes of the series. At first it worked out okay, but the Cavaliers were out-rebounded again by 11. Last year Thompson was able to establish himself as a force, disrupting the Warriors with offensive rebounds and hustle plays, but he was only given 21 minutes tonight. He continues to struggle to finish close shots with Draymond Green as a defender. The Cavs will have to find a way to utilize their $82 million man Game 3 Wednesday.
