Tristan Thompson notched a 18-13 double-double on Sunday night, with a surprising 12 points coming from just 15 free throw attempts.
Teams have resorted to hacking Thompson in the past but he’s trying to put an end to that, clearly. It was a great, if unsustainable, night from a man who shot just .498 from the stripe in the regular season. He also shot 3-of-4 from the floor and continued to punish Boston on the glass, collected seven more offensive rebounds. While he did some damage tonight, the Celtics will probably take their chances with TT hitting free throws going forward. He’s basically playing uncontested down low and should be able to reel in rebounds without much trouble.
