The Lakers pulled came away from Wednesday’s trip to San Antonio with a victory thanks in part to the strong showing of Tyler Ennis, who posted 19 points with six assists and two steals.
Ennis also shot 8-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-4 from long range to cap off a surprising night. With D’Angelo Russell inactive and Jordan Clarkson leaving the game early, Ennis was given free reign to run the offense and turned in a very nice showing in his 39 minutes. If Russell and Clarkson miss more time, which is entirely possible given LA’s unspoken need to lose some more games, Ennis becomes a worthy pickup. Deep leaguers can feel free to make a move now. Clarkson played 28 minutes before leaving with a knee injury, scoring 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting with six boards and two dimes. He and Russell remain holds for now, as neither’s injury seems particularly serious.
