Russell Westbrook scored 27 points (7-for-21 FGs, 11-for-14 FTs) with 12 assists, six rebounds, seven steals and two threes in 35 minutes, while Kevin Durant scored 26 points (10-for-30 FGs, 5-for-7 FTs) with 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and one three ball.
Peas in a pod. When Durant couldn’t buy a basket in the fourth (he went on an 0-for-8 stretch before nailing a key shot to go up 105-100 with 30 seconds remaining), Westbrook took over and led the win. Westbrook only had three points at half but poured it on with 24 in the second half (19 in the third quarter). His electric third quarter erased a 14-point deficit and allowed the Thunder to climb back in the game. Meanwhile, the Thunder need Durant to put together a better finish to games if they want to shock the defending champs in a seven-game series. Tonight was a good start.
