December 30, 2017, 9:29 pm
Wayne Ellington bounced back from an ugly Friday showing to net four 3-pointers in Saturday’s comeback victory.
Ellington was rolling over the competition heading into last night, and he promptly posted a 2-of-10, zero triple dud. Tonight he was much more his usual self, hitting 4-of-9 attempts (all from deep) to finish with 12 points. Ellington is a terrific 3-point specialist but has been hot enough to carry middle-round numbers over the last few weeks. He’ll slow down eventually but deserves to be in starting lineups right now.
February 26, 2020, 11:57 pmDevin BookerSG, Phoenix Suns
Devin Booker could hardly buy a bucket in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers, shooting a dismal 5-for-19 from the field for 14 points, 10 dimes and one 3-pointer.
While Booker did not fare well from the efficiency standpoint, he did manage to get other teammates involved with his 10 dimes and his eighth double-double of the season. He's not going to shoot this poorly ROS, so a bounce-back game should be in the cards for the Suns' star.
February 26, 2020, 11:52 pmDeandre AytonC, Phoenix Suns
Deandre Ayton played well on Wednesday, dropping 25 points on 11-of-22 shooting, grabbing 17 rebounds and blocking three shots, but the Suns still fell to the Clippers 92-102.
Ayton was coming off a five-rebound, zero-block game thanks to foul trouble. So while the Suns failed to squeak out a win, Ayton owners still lined up to cash in this line at the fantasy bank.
February 26, 2020, 11:49 pmRobert CovingtonSF, Houston Rockets
Robert Covington stuffed three shots on Wednesday, adding 10 points, six rebounds and one steal in a 140-112 blowout win vs. the Grizzlies.
Covington has excelled in blocks since joining the Rockets, averaging 2.7 blocks per game. He's a top-40 player during that stretch and is locked in to a big role for the Rockets. Covington's blocks will regress, but his threes and defensive stats will be fantasy gold moving forward.
February 26, 2020, 11:43 pmKawhi LeonardSF, Los Angeles Clippers
Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with a 24 point, 14 rebound double-double effort on Wednesday, while tacking on five assists and three steals.
Leonard continues to play some of the league's best basketball. Over the last two months, he has been the number one fantasy player in nine-cat leagues, and sits in the top-5 on the season. Owners will hope to carry this hot hand through the playoffs.
February 26, 2020, 11:41 pmAustin RiversPG, Houston Rockets
Austin Rivers scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting with three assists and four triples in 25 minutes as the Rockets beat the Grizzlies 140-112.
Rivers took advantage of the blowout and was able to get his stats. He's too inconsistent to trust as a streamer and can be left on the waiver wire outside of 20-team leagues.
February 26, 2020, 11:38 pmMarcus MorrisPF, Los Angeles Clippers
Marcus Morris put together a respectable performance on Wednesday, finishing with 18 points (6-14 FG, 4-8 3PT), five rebounds, three assists and a block in 30 minutes.
Morris had his best game with the Clippers so far, but it's hard to know what the production will be when Paul George is back to full strength. His value will be much clearer when the minutes distribution shakes out, but having them both in the starting lineup tonight is promising.
February 26, 2020, 11:34 pmGorgui DiengC, Memphis Grizzlies
Gorgui Dieng scored 10 points with two rebounds and one block in 19 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
It's difficult to judge this box score since it was a blowout from the start of the game. Dieng is coming off of back-to-back double-double performances and scored 14 points with 10 rebounds and four blocks in 28 minutes on Monday. Dieng should be held in all formats while Brandon Clarke (hip) and Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) are sidelined.
February 26, 2020, 11:31 pmPaul GeorgeSF, Los Angeles Clippers
Paul George struggled from the field in his limited minutes on Wednesday, but still managed 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting, one rebound, four assists and three steals.
George is still on a minutes limit which will hamper his production until he gets ramped back up. Patrick Beverley was also on a minutes restriction and scored 11 points with five rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes of action.
February 26, 2020, 11:28 pmJonas ValanciunasC, Memphis Grizzlies
Jonas Valanciunas double-doubled on Wednesday with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 10 boards in a 140-112 blowout loss to the Rockets.
Valanciunas bounced back after being held to five points and seven rebounds on Monday. Valanciunas will have to step up for the Grizzlies with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke out of the lineup. Valanciunas is a top-60 player on the season in only 25.8 minutes per game and should finish the season in that range with a boost in the short term.
February 26, 2020, 11:27 pmDeMar DeRozanSG, San Antonio Spurs
DeMar DeRozan did his best to lead the the Spurs in Wednesday's 109-103 loss to the Mavs, ending the contest with 27 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3PT, 9-9 FT), eight rebounds, nine assists and one steal.
DeRozan continues to perform at a high-level when he's on the court, and any signs of back spasms seem to have disappeared. DeRozan has been a top-40 player on the season and has put up top-20 numbers over the last two weeks.
