Wayne Selden drew a start on Saturday night and put forth a strong effort with 16 points, two rebounds, nine assists, two steals and two 3-pointers.
Selden is making his case to start at the shooting guard spot, though he filled in at the three for the injured Kyle Anderson tonight. He played ahead of Dillon Brooks (six points in 17 minutes) and MarShon Brooks (laid bricks in 23 minutes), and the wing spots seem unsettled in Memphis these days. The two starting roles will be filled by some combo of Anderson, Dillion Brooks, Selden and Garrett Temple, who notched 11 points and a triple-one tonight. We'd like to see Anderson and Brooks get the nods but the tea leaves seem to be pointing in Temple's direction for now. Keep an eye on the rest of the Grizzlies' exhibition schedule.
