January 18, 2019, 4:41 pmWendell Carter Jr.C/F, Chicago Bulls
A recent blurb on the Bulls’ website informs us that Wendell Carter Jr. (left thumb) was examined by hand specialists, Drs. John Fernandez and Mark Cohen, and that their recommendation for surgery would leave Carter Jr. out of commission for 8-to-12 weeks.
To be clear, the Bulls aren’t announcing his surgery only what the rehab time would be if performed. While it’s still possible WCJ gets a second opinion, the Bulls are tanking and have no reason to keep him out there so the writing may be on the wall. Make sure Bobby Portis isn’t floating around on any waivers.
