Hassan Whiteside played 31 minutes off of the bench, shooting 6-for-7 from the field and 6-for-6 from the line for 18 points, 10 rebounds, one block and four turnovers in the Heat’s 124-119 win over the Nuggets on Monday.
There were plenty of stats to go around on Monday in a shootout at American Airlines Arena. Whiteside has produced first-round value since the All-Star break, cleaning up his shooting percentages. The only disappointment for owners tonight is that Whiteside couldn’t emulate the 11 blocks that he had against the Nuggets in their last meeting. Luol Deng continued his excellent value in Bosh’s absence, scoring 17 points tonight with eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. He has a very steady fourth-round value over the last month. Joe Johnson also produced a nice line tonight with 18 points, two threes, five assists and two rebounds to maintain his fifth-round value. All is well for your regular Heat starters.
