Andrew Wiggins' five-year $150 million dollar extension is set to kick in next season.
Wiggins saw a large decline in production this season after the acquisition of Jimmy Butler. His points per game dropped from 23.6 to 17.6 and his shots per game went from 19.1 to 15.9. There were rumors the former number one overall pick wasn't happy about his smaller role this season, but regardless he will be paid handsomely for his services. This will make him difficult to trade if the Wolves were interested as not many NBA teams are chomping at the bit to go after a player who only hits threes at a 33 percent clip for his career and isn't a strong defender for that kind of salary. Hopefully another season of continuity can help Wiggins play more efficiently in 2018-2019
