Spain triumphed over Croatia at EuroBasket on Tuesday, though the Hernangomez brothers weren’t the most influential players on the court.
Denver’s Juan Hernangomez played 23 minutes with nine points, four rebounds, a steal and some strong defensive work down the stretch while New York’s Willy Hernangomez played only 10 minutes, posting two points, four rebounds and two assists. Willy had similarly low playing time at the Rio Olympics as Spain is loaded with veteran frontcourt players, so this isn’t an indictment of his talent by any means. He was a strong performer after the break last season and has mid-round upside if everything breaks right. Juan is in tough to make fantasy waves this season, though there’s some appeal in leagues of 16 teams or more.
