Adrian Wojnarowski reports that "few in his orbit" expect Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to coach the Spurs beyond the 2020 Summer Olympics.
The note comes at the end of a piece about San Antonio's predicament with Kawhi Leonard. The superstar and coach will need to repair their relationship heading into next season and while Kawhi's camp would like a supermax deal before he hits free agency, the Spurs may want to see him "reinvest" after a trying year where he ended up working away from his teammates amid reports of discord between him and the organization. Woj also reports that the Celtics made an offer for Leonard at the deadline that went un-countered and that the Sixers and Lakers would like to throw their hats in the ring as well. If Pop is destined to ride into the sunset just two years from now, it's possible that Leonard won't want to sign a long-term deal in San Antonio — but money talks. If not for the LeBron James situation, Leonard might be the most-talked-about player this summer.
