John Collins has been suspended without pay for 25 games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2 (GHRP-2), it was announced today by the NBA.
This is devastating blow for the Hawks while the NBA may be facing a moment of reckoning with performance-enhancing drugs. There now have been three suspensions in just over two months with Wilson Chandler of the Nets and Deandre Ayton of the Suns also suspended. Atlanta will now have to count on Jabari Parker for the foreseeable future and he deserves a look in all formats.
