The Thunder are trading Chris Paul and Abdel Nader to the Suns for Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Ty Jerome, Jalen Lecque and a 2022 first-round pick, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Paul will head to Phoenix and attempt to deliver the same kind of feel good story he successfully wrote with the Thunder last season. Devin Booker should be happy to finally have a star guard to play alongside, even if it means he won't be leading the offense this year. With this move the Suns should solidify themselves as a competitive Western Conference team. The fact they were able to retain both Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson makes this an excellent deal for the team. The Suns' future first is protected 1-12 in 2022, 1-10 in 2023, 1-8 in 2024 and unprotected in 2025.
