Wolves owner Glen Taylor wants to trade Jimmy Butler in the coming days — ideally before the team's first practice on Tuesday.
Taylor has basically told other teams to come to him if Tom Thibodeau and GM Scott Layden don't want to talk, as has been reported previously. He also wants Layden to reach out and initiate talks rather than sit back and wait, and all this comes as he considers a shakeup to the front office structure as well. Taylor wants to end this as soon as possible while Thibodeau, already on thin ice with ownership, would rather go down swinging and try to make the playoffs despite major dysfunction. Nobody has had deep talks with Minnesota yet but the Clippers, Nets, Rockets, Pistons, Heat and Blazers are interested. Butler reportedly prefers the Knicks to the Nets but ultimately wants to go to a team that can sign him to a five-year extension.
