Yogi Ferrell was the hot hand for the Mavs on Friday, shooting 9-of-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep to lead the team in scoring with 23 points in 33 minutes off the bench.
Ferrell also added two steals and committed just one turnover in what was an excellent game for him. Part of the outburst was helped on by Dennis Smith Jr.’s off night, and those two and J.J. Barea — who wasn’t half bad tonight with eight points, two threes and eight assists — will all work to cap each other’s upside for the rest of the year. The entire trio is worth using in deep leagues but there are safer alternatives out there for standard league players. Injuries change that equation but you don’t necessarily need to reserve a roster spot for an inconsistent producer like Smith, Ferrell or Barea.
