Zach Lavine played 36 minutes in a win against the Suns on Monday, finishing with 23 points on 7-of-16 from the field to go with 5-of-5 from the line, four 3-pointers, four boards, three assists, one steal, one block and two turnovers.
There’s no stopping Lavine right now as his minutes lead the league at 37.9 per game, leaving him at top-50 value this year. That’s the Tom Thibodeau effect in full motion and this can either frighten his owners as injury risk becomes a thing, or it can encourage owners who were worried that the dunk champ would be put in the dog house for his assumed sub-par defense under coach Thibs. It’s best to focus on the present and maybe even sell high if you’re getting back a sure-fire early-rounder.
