Zach Randolph scored 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting with eight rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and one trey in the Kings’ road win over the Nets on Wednesday.
Some of Randolph’s three-week push has been sheer stupidity from other teams letting him shoot wide open threes and singling him up against terrible defenders. Tonight it was Tyler Zeller as the sacrificial lamb, despite the presence of Quincy Acy, who did do a good job on him when given the chance. Right or wrong for the team’s overall development and despite his team worst net rating, Randolph has been given the keys to the offense and he has apparently played his way into shape because his athleticism and effectiveness on offense isn’t a question right now. He’s rolling at a top-75 value this season and that might continue deep into the year with the occasional night off for rest.
