According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Clippers are hoping to re-sign Blake Griffin to a max deal in addition to Chris Paul.
The Clippers can offer Griffin $175 million over five years, while other teams can only offer around $130 million over four years. Blake has become pretty injury-prone over the last couple of years and a lot of fantasy owners are not impressed. Griffin is currently getting his toe looked at, so we can expect another update on his situation very soon. There have been many trade rumors surrounding Blake, so we’ll see if anything goes down. It’ll be a very interesting summer for the Clippers and we can expect some blockbuster headlines coming soon. Griffin appeared in 61 games in 2016-17, averaging 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 triples on 49.3 percent shooting.
