The Nets are reportedly the front runners to land Rajon Rondo during free agency.
Rondo is apparently apprehensive about the Nets’ dearth of talent, but the team is reportedly willing to offer the veteran point guard a max-deal. Brooklyn is hoping to add another big name to play alongside Rondo, which would make him more willing to sign with the organization. That said, the idea of Rondo making north of $25 million a year on a max deal seems highly unlikely. He was a disaster for the Kings last season, and even with a rising cap he shouldn’t approach that kind of money. Despite how poorly Rondo played last year, he would find himself in a nice fantasy position with the Nets.
