Keith Smith reports that a source close to the Nets said they will be aggressive in obtaining restricted free agents Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Otto Porter this summer.
The Nets want to add an athletic wing and we knew Pope was a top priority since late March. Porter is no surprise either as there will probably be many teams calling about his services. As both players are restricted free agents that their teams would like to keep, it will probably take a max contract to have a chance to pry them away. The Nets 9 players under guaranteed contracts next season and enough cap space to at least try. Porter was a top-30 player in standard leagues this season, while Pope was a top-110 player. Both will undoubtedly take on bigger roles if either one lands with the Nets.
