According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Hawks offered the Pacers four first-round picks for Paul George at the trade deadline.
We knew the Hawks were trying to trade for Paul George and Jimmy Butler in February and now we know how much they were willing to give up. It is unclear which other players were involved or whether the picks were protected but there is a good chance the Pacers will not get a better offer than this. George is still under contract for one more season but many people are convinced that he is steadfast about joining his hometown Lakers as a free agent in 2018. If this is indeed the case, teams may be wary of offering this many draft picks for a one-season rental.
